Career Aspirations
At the moment my career focus is in two streams: Website Design/Development and Business Analysis. I would like to continue to develop my skills in web design/development, keeping abreast with standards and other developments in the web community. I would also like to add .net and oracle to my repetoire as well as xml; I also want to learn more of photoshop and flash and other adobe products.
In business analysis, I want to learn all of its ins and outs and particularly further develop my interpersonal communication skills.
As for career goals, within 5 years I would like to have enough skills and experience to project manage small projects within government or contract out to government/private enterprise.

- Communication skills – demonstrated interpersonal communication in the work environment. Group oral presentations, communication in team environments, written communication in reports, emails, faxes, letters, forums, SMS and websites; and verbal communication by phone and in person; customer liaison. Some inter-agency liaison.
- Research skills – primary and secondary research, surveys, questionnaires, quantitative and qualitative research. Skilled with finding reference materials using online and library resources as well as through referral from colleagues and other stakeholders.
- Team work – skills in planning, liaison, delegation, negotiation, conflict resolution and collaboration with other team members. Have also lead team-work in most situations.
- Follow procedures and policies of workplace including confidentiality.
- Meeting organization and recording (minutes & agenda).
- Attention to detail – proofreading, review of tasks and outcomes, thorough analysis of documents; Critical analysis, problem-solving and evaluation.
- Proven ability to learn quickly, utilizing active listening skills.
- Disciplined and autonomous hard-worker.
- Office skills – client contact (phone and meet & greet), filing/cataloguing, photocopying, scanning, faxing, mail-outs, data-entry, letter-writing, mail sorting and delivery, ordering stationery, organizing training and conference bookings, following established procedures, documentation and updating of procedures.

- A part of a team at work that develops and implements strategies to make our work practices more sustainable and friendly to the environment.
- Have contributed procedures for printing and for reviewing of documents for the office handbook in conjunction with the GreenTeam.
Web Standards Group
- A forum which discusses topics of importance to the web development community. Assists with keeping up to date the developments in standards so web pages can be displayed properly and meet usability and accessibility standards.
